Greetings friend!

I wanted to share some insights from a wonderful event I attended with President Barack Obama – yes, he was there in the flesh. It was a fundraiser that was held by John & Sandi Thompson, ( John is Chairman of the Board for Symantec Software – below).

The event included some real movers and shakers. People like Congressman Mike Honda (picture below to left), The Software Architect for the iPhone (hired by Steve Jobs) Bruce Hornsby (Bruce Hornsby and the Range – very entertaining), Chris Cornell (Sound Garden – AWESOME!!!), and a host of other very interesting people!

However, one of the most interesting people that I had the pleasure of interacting with was a woman who was 83 years old and quite active in fund-raising for President Obama. She travels to other states to assist in fundraising for up to 5 weeks per trip! She’s a part time Psychologist in Berkley California.

 Recap of President Obama’s Talk

When President Obama arrived at the event he met with a number of the people one-on-one, then spoke to the entire group. I have to tell you that my impression of the President is that he is very “Authentic”.

President Obama talked to the group for approximately 15 minutes and his words were very real, meaningful and heart felt! In a nutshell, he talked about:

His promises, and his challenges.

The work he’s done for the past 2 1/2 years and the fact that everything he’d set out to do wasn’t going to be accomplished overnight.

He reminded us that when he began his campaign, that he knew the road was going to be tough – “Change is difficult”.

That it’s going to take much more work and effort from all of us to create real change.

He reminded us that he isn’t a “Black” President, but that he’s an AMERICAN President.

Have you seen the list of 244 accomplishments of President Barack Obama? – http://wp.me/p1rTC4-eq

Friends the thing that struck me most about President Obama, was his authentic sense of caring, most importantly, that he is one of us! He’s not just a special interest President who is in office to see how much he can take from the country…. We’ve had enough of that. In fact, look at where a decade of corporate interest leadership has led America.

In fact, the President reminded us that this is one of the most challenging times that America has ever seen – we are on the brink of a crisis that America has never seen. This crisis was in motion well in advance of his Presidency.

Heed These Words!

At this time, internal fighting amongst Democrats and Republicans will only continue to separate us and to ensure that America will continue it’s fall. Remember, divided we fall, united we stand! This fight is going to require the combined efforts of “EVERYONE”, DEMOCRATS, CONSERVATIVES, REPUBLICANS, LIBERALS, PEACE AND FREEDOM, GREEN, TEA PARTY, CONGRESS, SENATE, CORPORATE AMERICA, MIDDLE CLASS, LOWER CLASS, UPPER CLASS, ALL AMERICANS! One of my wise friends once told me, “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging!”. If we continue to fight amongst ourselves in the midst of this crisis, we’ll continue to dig the hole that we are already in…

BTW – if you are the type of person who likes to understand what’s REALLY going on in the world, versus getting your sound bites from our yellow journalistic news media, read a great book Bob Woodward’s, “Obama’s Wars” – http://tinyurl.com/2bqbegp. This will give you some great insight into the real villain’s in our country who are digging holes for us.

In addition, you may want to read a blog I wrote before President Obama was elected. The information was from an event I attended with Mr. David Gergen. He provided some REAL insight into the uphill crisis that whomever the President elect would be, would have to face. He also suggest that this was one of the most crucial times in our history – http://wp.me/p1rTC4-p.

This is not a Democrat or a Republican American, this is Our America! We must work together to change our fate.

Here is an excerpt from President Obama’s 15 minute chat

• Historic healthcare reform bill signed – $940 billion over 10 years (2010) * Note: 32 million additional Americans will receive healthcare coverage and costs will be lowered for most Americans, but many of the goals are phased in over four years

Components of the bill

- Prevents insurance companies from denying coverage to individuals/family members with pre-existing health conditions; a temporary plan is being developed to cover high-risk individuals with pre-existing conditions until the full reforms go into effect in 2014

- Prevents insurance companies from placing lifetime limits on benefits

- Bans “rescission” so insurance companies can’t cancel coverage if individuals keep their policies current or if they become ill

- An individual’s out-of-pocket healthcare expenses are capped

- Closes the “donut hole” (Part D) for Medicare prescription drug coverage (under Bush, Medicare helped pay for drugs up to $2,600 and above $4,550, but individuals had to pay 100% of the costs in between these amounts); now Medicare helps cover costs irrespective of the amount – seniors will now pay only 25% of drug costs up to $4,550 and only 5% of drug costs above that amount

- In 2010, an emergency provision will offer seniors a $250 rebate on the costs incurred within the “donut hole”

- Individuals living at or below the poverty line were eligible for healthcare under Medicaid, but by 2014 individuals/families living slightly above (making up to $14,404/$29,327) the poverty line will also be eligible for benefits

- Individuals/families making less than $43,320/$88,200 per year will qualify for government subsidies to help purchase health insurance

- All individuals must have health insurance or face a government fine; all large (over 50 employees) employers must offer health insurance to employees or pay a fine

- Small businesses can get a tax credit if they offer health care

- There are hardship exemptions if individuals can’t afford health insurance

- Families can keep their children in college on their plans through age 26

- Promotes health insurance “exchanges” so consumers can buy “wholesale”

- Creates consumer assistance offices to help consumers file complaints or appeal decisions from insurance companies; beginning in 2011, insurance companies can no longer make excessive rate hikes without justification and approval, and those doing so may be barred from participating in new health insurance exchanges

Funding sources:

- Large employers (over 50 workers) that don’t offer health benefits will be charged a $2,000/worker fee; if the employer offers coverage but employees instead purchase federally subsidized insurance the fee is $3,000/worker receiving federal subsidies or $750/worker (whichever is lower)

- Annual fees on pharmaceutical companies ($27 billion), health insurance companies ($60 billion), and medical device-makers ($20 billion)

- Annual penalties on individuals who do not have health insurance (up to a maximum of $695/person)

- Increase in the Medicare payroll tax from 1.45% to 2.35% for individuals making $200,000+ and families making $250,000+

- 3.8% tax on unearned income for millionaires

- Insurance companies will be subject to a tax on each high-end insurance plan (so-called “Cadillac” plans) they offer

Miscellaneous:

- Illegal immigrants are not eligible for insurance or subsidies

- By Executive Order, such federal funding can’t be used for abortion

- The federal government will assist states by covering all of the increased expenses of expanding Medicaid coverage (90% of costs after 2020)

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

• Removed a ruling that now allows individual states to enact automotive fuel efficiency standards above federal standards (2009)

• Offered attractive tax write-offs for those who buy hybrid automobiles (2009)

• Overturned Bush-era rule that weakened the Endangered Species Act (2009)

• Cancelled several Bush-era mountain-top removal and mining permits (2009)

* Note: Bush had withdrawn from such efforts

• Asked Congress for an energy reform and “cap and trade” bill (2009) * Note: The Congress failed to pass such a bill

• Expanded the Petrified Forest National Park (2009)

• Signed the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act that protects millions of acres of scenic, historic, and recreational lands and trails (2009)

• Requiring that government buildings and facilities be retrofitted to save energy costs (2009) * Note: These green retrofits are moving very slowly

• Authorized studies in several western states to determine how to support large-scale solar installations (2009)

• Attended the Copenhagen talks and, after the talks were stalled, negotiated an international (voluntary) agreement on reducing carbon emissions and raising funds to assist developing nations in offsetting carbon emissions (2009)

• Banned importation of pythons in response to a growing population of pythons damaging the Florida Everglades (2009)

• Committing the federal government to increasing research and use of renewable, clean energy sources such as wind, biomass, etc. (2009)

• Executive orders establishing a federal initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in all federal operations (2009) (2010)

• Called for exploring the possibility of additional off-shore oil drilling in the Gulf, Atlantic, and off Alaska (but not in ANWR) (2010)

• Increased investment in clean energy projects (2010)

• Executive Order to develop a new strategy for and commitment to ocean and lake resources, and for scientific research on water quality (2010)

I’ve published this list for my fellow Americans based on the fact that most of our news today is “Yellow Journalism” and if we don’t take time to find out the facts, our opinions will be influenced by “Big brother” or anyone who buys enough adverstising to tell us what to think…

I hope you take time to verify this information as well as the information that is spewed out from the media resources. I hope that at the end of the day, you are truly an authentic person and can see how authentic President Obama really is.

Social media and the environment of social networking have asserted themselves as essential resources within the overall strategic enrollment management process of the more modern institutions of Higher Education. Institutions now find themselves as a member of a minority group that are not representing themselves in cyberspace via the giants of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ among others.

For those institutions that have chosen for any number of reasons not to take a proactive role in their cyber-presence, the decision to remain on the outside of this recent growth industry could come to haunt these institutions as their likeness and name brand are out there regardless of any stance they may choose to take. Protecting a brand in cyberspace is no less critical than protecting that brand in print, news, radio or other mass communication mediums.

An entire industry has been created that focuses on protecting a name brand, promoting positive and accurate information about an organization or individual, accessing and controlling information involving organizational brands, and even suppressing negative information. This industry is a direct result of the massive and rapid growth of the social media and social networking environments.

What does all this have to do with institutions of higher education? This is really a very simple answer, everything. Since the dawning of the information age or sometimes called the computer age in the late 1980’s, higher education has somewhat resisted the full adoption of mass communication. What an ironic and even now iconic occurrence that took place in August 1981 when MTV aired its first video – Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles, little did the creators of MTV realize they had just ushered in an entirely new age of rich media hungry consumers. Just to take the MTV analogy a bit further, the demographic of the typical MTV viewer, all varieties of MTV, is projected to have a spending power of over $350 billion (Nielsen and the US Census Bureau).

The same demographic represents the largest population by far that currently participate in paying tuition within the walls of higher education. Here is another interesting set of numbers, it took MTV over 20 years to reach the buying power of 100 million users, the professional networking giant LinkedIn accomplished this feat in just 8 years with over 50% of this following taking place in the last 3 years. Even the popular social network of Facebook took 10 years to reach 100 million users which by the way now has reached over 750 million active users.

What does all this really imply for higher education?

Students are active in social media and in social networks and are commenting on their schools regardless if schools are taking proactive measures or not to manage their cyber-presence. A large majority of institutions have taken a positive and assertive role in managing their cyber-presence.

Most institutions with any level of accreditation from the Department of Education participate in some way with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, RSS, and mobile technology.

Since 2003, online enrollments have outgrown standard/traditional enrollments with online growth at 17 percent and standard/traditional growth at 1.2 percent.

Every major publisher of books used by higher education offers an electronic version of their print books and also provides volumes of digital resources for each printed resource. A large number of new publishers have risen that offer 100% digital resources and have caused concern with the major print publishers.

Several fortune 500 companies have gone on record stating their organizations have saved as much as 50% on costs of acquiring new talent through the use of social networking resources such as LinkedIn. JobVite published an article that revealed that 100% of fortune 500 companies use social media to fill vacant positions. Within this grouping 76% used LinkedIn as their first source of information, followed by the use of various job search databases, Facebook, and Twitter.

Students that do not make use of social media as a means to market their skills and abilities are at a great disadvantage.

Institutions that do not proactively manage their brand within cyberspace run the risk of not looking current and relevant to potential new students.

Institutions that make improper or lack of use of social media, social networks, and the emergence of web tools run a high risk of overspending on their budgets. Example is the use of LinkedIn as an ePortfolio resource at no cost to an institution, student or job seeker. Another example is the use of LinkedIn to get students more connected to their subject matter area through the use of group discussions and professional network building.

In a nutshell, if your school isn’t proactively managing it’s cyber-presence, by default your cyber-presence will manage itself, but not always in a positive light. We are now in the “Information Age”, which can be a double edged sword. The question at the end of the day will be, “Was the sword handled properly?”

Many of you are familiar with my career coaching and the volunteer work I’ve done in the job search community. I continually look to find ways to help and inspire people – it’s my purpose and my dream job! One of the things that I know to be true is our brains have the amazing potential to create what we imagine whether what we focus on is positive or negative. Therefore having a process that helps you to focus is certainly a better use of your time. The challenge is that we ALL have distractions in life – family, relationships, kids, money, etc. The biggest distractions usually come from “what you believe”. i.e. I believe this is a bad economy and that I won’t find a job…

I have had my share of MAJOR challenges, which are a necessary part of life, but I continue to focus on my outcome and manifesting things that are productive and healthy to my life… I continue look at life and to believe that “Yes We Can!”.

As a result of a changing economy, and a new world, I’d been motivated to find ways to connect with people and continue making a living and doing business as a headhunter or “hyper-connector” as I’m referred to by friends! The strategies that I’ve developed and used are tried and proven one’s that I continue to use. Eating the same soup that I serve keeps me humble – – what a concept.

“Ron is an expert and a very top professional on job search and career development.
What I’ve found over the many years is that Linkedin is massive and can be overwhelming!

Because I’ve been an active user of Linkedin since 2005 and have spent thousands of hours on this system and continue to learn new things. In fact, Linkedin is not a tool – it’s a tools store! My Leveraging Linkedin course is designed to take the mystery and overwhelm out of the equation, and to show specific strategies that allow you to be effective in using this system right away! I have created numerous strategies that are designed to show you how to use this powerful tool store to find the “Hidden Job Market” and to use Linkedin like a headhunter. The heavy lifting has been done! Now all you need to do is follow the recipe.

Dream Job University – First Online Linkedin Course For Job Seekers Ever!

That being said, I’d like to share something that will make a difference in your job search for the rest of your career. I’ve built an online system for coaching I call the “Dream Job University“. This system was built so that I could share my high end (expensive) coaching strategies with the masses in a cost effective way.

My newest course “Leveraging Linkedin” is a derivative of a Blog Talk radio show I was a guest on with host Kenrick Chatman (Kenrick Chatman.com) the Career Catalyst. Kenrick invited me to to share some of my Linkedin strategies and expertise with job seekers. The episode was called, “How To Use Linkedin Like A Headhunter” and is still one of his highest rated episodes ever!

The online Leveraging Linkedin course is a VIDEO based and has over 70 “How To” short episodes that will teach you EXACTLY how to use Linkedin specifically to find a job – not just any job, but the career opportunity you want. Each video is approximately 1 to 9 minutes in length so they are short, easy to apply and extremely informative – in fact I call my style of education - Edutrainment (educational-training-entertaining).

“I really enjoyed listening to Use Linkedin like a Headhunter II with Ron Nash. Great info! One of the most difficult is the phone conversation… The podcast was very encouraging and uplifting in the ideas/techniques given. Thanks for providing this very needed service to the millions who need the help.” Ron P.

Graduation is coming or has come and gone for many of you! And now in your reality its not uncommon to wake up and find yourself stressing because you have a ton of student loans to pay back.

And now you have the daunting task of finding a job in the worst economy since the great depression. You’ve also heard that joblessness among college grads is at an all time high. Stressful! (BTW – there is a FREE graduation gift at the bottom of this blog that will help)

Joblessness can be one of most stressful things in life!

With all of the other pressures, you add the stress of finding a new job in the mix, that’s because no one told you that Job loss and job search fall into a category considered to be one of the top stressful things in LIFE!!! In fact, in your final semester of school you are embarking upon a at least 4 of the Top Stressful things in life. Of course no one told you, they didn’t want to freak out too early!

Top 10 Stressful Things In Life
1. Divorce / breakup
2. Bereavement
3. Losing job/job search
4. Wedding planning
5. Work
6. Kids / Family
7. Debt
8. Commuting
9. Studying for exams
10. Pregnancy

Why Graduation is the worst time to look for a job.

Most of you are experiencing a minimum of 4 things from the list and some of you more! The plain and simple fact is that when you wait until the last minute to do anything, you have limited options available to you at that time. Job search requires planning –Your time in college was spent learning a subject matter and earning your credentials and not how to be a professional job search specialist. You will need the most current job search and networking techniques to be successful in your job search. There is no fast way to get a job without an established professional network.

Here is the GOLD NUGGET you have been waiting for!

The best advice I could give anyone is to plan your job search strategy from day one of enrollment. The plain and simple fact is that with resources like Linkedin and other social networks, a student can begin creating a professional and quality network of people in their desired industry during the first year.

Dream Job University has a complete training package for Colleges/Universities interested in implementing a “Retention and Career Search Success Plan”. The strategies focus on Retention and Career Services, while keeping the student focused on their dreams and outcomes – graduating in their desired discipline and being gainfully employed.

Creating a Linkedin profile and beginning to utilize the Linkedin network is the first thing EVERY college freshman should do. In fact, this should be a requirement for graduation – establishing a professional network in your discipline.

Having a strategy is the key!

1.	Create a 100% Profile on Linkedin – When done properly, this will help recruiters and hiring managers find you.
2.	Mange your Cyber Presence – Make your Facebook page private. Don’t post anything that will compromise your professional image!
3.	Create a target list of companies in your desired industry – Creating a definitive target list of companies in your geographical locations is easy to do on Linkedin.
4.	Create a list of connections using Linkedin – Start with your professors, career services, friends in your graduation class – someone is connected to a person at a target company.
5.	Use the PHONE – With today’s technology many of us prefer email and texting to communicate. The challenge is that you miss hidden opportunities when you don’t speak directly to people on the phone.
6.	Process – Successful job seekers have a specific methodology they follow EVERYDAY, until they succeed!
7.	Track your results – I once coached a job seeker to go back to a place she’d applied 3 months prior to see if the position had been filled? It hadn’t – she was employed there within one week.

Now – I mentioned my Leveraging Linkedin online coaching system, which has ALL of the processes outlined in an easy to follow video coaching formation.

As a graduation gift, I’d like to give you one of my complete lessons, Leveraging Linkedin 101 (value of $139.00) – for FREE!!

HERE’S THE CATCH!

1. Post this on your Facebook page and tell all of your friends about it.
2. Tweet this to your entire Twitter base.
3. Connect with me on Linkedin.
4.	That’s it!

If you can do these three simple tasks – I promise that I’ll help place you in position to find a job that you want – not just a job!

Most job seekers don’t have a specific process in their job search, which is why most job-seekers become discouraged. Help is here. My system works on a regular basis for those who do the work!.

I had the pleasure of eating at a taco stand here in San Diego Ca. (Cardiff-By-The-Sea). However, this was not just an ordinary taco stand, it was an experience. It was “Inauthentic Mexican” – You’ll see what this means in the video. The other part of this experience was the location – right on the ocean!!!

If you have been following my blogs over the past few moths, you’ll remember that I wrote a blog entitled “Something To Take The Stress Away” recently. It was the story of how I was walking my dog and found a check for $8,000. Long story short is read the blog!

The check belonged to a guy named Craig Leslie, who owns a Taco stand called, Bull Taco. He called me and in gratitude, offered to treat my family to dinner at the taco stand. His call was very serendipitous, because he called me on a Monday and suggested that our San Diego weather would be clearing by mid week, and that Wed 3/30 would be a great time to come to have dinner. That day happened to be my wedding anniversary date so I gracefully accepted!

I took the opportunity to record an interview with Craig to find out more about his business and his motivation for starting it. As a result, I found two amazing things:

1. A Taco Stand that is one of San Diego’s Jewel’s!!!

2. An inspirational story from a college grad who worked in Corporate America for three years and decided to leave to follow his passions.

This video interview is one that I am very proud to present, as it represents the essence of the work we are focusing on here at Dream Job University – Living The Life You Dream!

My thoughts:

Even in a down economy there is still opportunity

Passion is the one thing that helps you to smooth the bumps in life

Employees and Entrepreneurs are not immune to hard work

Choose your passion in life over fear!

I decided to videotape an interview with my friends Richard and Sally Crawford. The video is approximately 11 minutes in length. The interview is fascinating, informative, inspirational and fun. I encourage you to view the entire video if you are interested in knowing, “How to Be In Love With Your Career”.

I first met Richard and Sally Crawford a several (almost 10) of years ago at a film conference in Los Angeles California. I remember it well. There was a panel of industry speakers who all had expertise in the entrainment business at some level. What I recall most vividly was that whenever, Richard had the opportunity to speak; he was energized, excited, entertaining, passionate and informative! The type of person I wanted to know.

At the end of the conference, I went to introduce myself to him and at this point had the pleasure of meeting he and his beautiful wife Sally. It was then that the friendship began. The funny thing is as we spoke, we both discovered that we all lived in north county San Diego, not far from each other. Was this a coincidence? Nah…. I don’t believe that the universe makes mistakes, similar to the stars and moons that dance in the skies, without colliding.

Richard Crawford has been in the business of “moving images” for all of his adult life, without cease. Richard exemplifies the passion and love for his craft like all great artists do.

Sally Crawford, his wife has been at his side for 38 years and still counting. They own a video/film production company here in San Diego called “One Video and Film” and “One Productions“. Sally is the Producer as Richard is writing, directing and creating. The couple makes an awesome team!

In my experience it not too often that we see married couples that know how to co-exist in their work and home lives, Richard and Sally are the epitome of that experience.

I hope that you enjoy this gift as much as I do!

A few distinctions I got from this were:

Do something that you are passionate about!

Life has ebb and flows for everyone

When you do something you love, you have no choice but to love what you do!

Expect that things will work – You must have unshakable faith

Your passion brings life – Life has challenges – That’s what helps you to know you are alive

Takes courage and action, you have a gift to give – You must honor your gift by giving it!

Here is a question that I’d like you to seriously ponder while reading this blog post. Are You In Love With Your Career?

I recently had the pleasure of creating a discussion in my Linkedin group – Dream Job University, with Daniel Hendrick, world renowned Opera Singer/Composer and Director of the H.M. Music Foundation. The discussion uncovered the question that I am asking you – Are you in love with your career? Daniel Hendrick certainly is.

I’ve known Daniel several years now and have seen his undying love and passion inspire audiences of all ages, races, creed and colors!

Here is the discussion:
Ron Nash • Maestro – it is a pleasure to have in you in the group. Can you please share what you do for a living and talk about your recent project, “WHICH IS AMAZING”, you are truly an inspiration and living your dream!

Daniel Hendrick • Hi Ron, i am honored to share: I have been an Opera singer for many years, traveling the world and singing leading roles in some of the worlds finest Opera Houses. I am also president of HM Artist foundation a 501 3c that is dedicated to helping great artist (of all genre’s) discover the international stage. Over the past 3 years I have been putting on the hat of ‘composer’ I recently completed a new CD of my original music entitled ‘Know You Know’ all songs that reflect my life’s Journey, and higher consciousness. Today I uploaded ‘Dormant Mind’ a song from the new CD you can see it here. Youtube

Ron Nash • Daniel – the video for “Dormant Mind” is on Youtube It is PHENOMENAL!!!

Many people look at you as an artist and suggest that it’s easy for a talented person such as yourself to do what you do successfully – can you talk about perseverance and the things that we have to endure to keep our dreams alive? Anything…

Daniel Hendrick • Thanks for the positive words Mr. Nash. For me I look at it a little different. ‘Perseverance’ feels alot like making myself do something,. I know not everyone views in that light, but for me it’s just following my ‘passion’ I am ‘in love’ with the work I do, so logically I want to spend alot of time and energy with it.

My student’s frequently say ‘wow you are so disciplined’ I don’t feel it in that context! for me it’s not that. When we are ‘in love’ with what we do , it’s so easy to spend alot of time doing it. so for me the key to staying consistent for long periods of time is…. being ‘passionate’ and ‘loving’ what you do, then ‘perseverance’ is a piece of delicious cake!

Ron Nash • Well articulated my friend! May everyone in the group understand more about the passion you speak about – it’s the essence of living the life you dream – on earth as it is in heaven!

My thoughts:
That was the discussion – I hope you got as much from that as I did! Now, the question I have for you is, how do you feel about the work you do? Are you passionate about your career, or are you just one of those who is watching the clock as time go by? Remember, just because you are alive, doesn’t mean you are living! You must challenge your state of normal at all times – you must have a standard that is met, and raised as soon as you reach hit. You must use every one of the heartbeats that you get to try something new before they stop beating – you must live like you were dying (Tim McGraw)!

In my Career Mastery Program (online seminar) I talk about 12 areas of a career that are essential for finding and mastery your passion. Career Mastery is based on my book, “How to Find Your Dream Job, Even In a Recession”. One thing that has held true in this down economy is my passion and pursuit of my dreams. It hasn’t been an easy downhill road – it takes effort, but because I realize how finite this time is – I don’t mind the effort it takes.

Once you your passion is ignited, nothing is work! You simply do what you have to, to live another day to “Get to do it”. When you realize that you get to do what you want to do – your in a childlike state that is heaven like.

For more information on Daniel Hendrick, go to hmartistfoundation.com. You can also listen to his new album entitled, “Know You Know” at ITunes. The album has a variety of styles of music from Rock to songs in Spanish – “La Musica”. I highly recommend this music if you are into music that uplifts the spirit and brightens the day! Daniel’s music instills hope and enforces the idea that instinctively, we “Know that we know!”

Please feel free to join our group on Linkedin – Dream Job University. Also, to send me a Linkedin request to connect, you can never have too many friends!

The other day, I was feeling a little stressed and needed to unplug from the matrix… I’ve been plugged in doing lots of work, which can be rewarding, but has a way of draining the battery!

Well, I decided to take my dog (buda, a yorkie from Budapest) on a walk to the ocean and enjoy some of the sun that we’ve been blessed with before the wonderful rains that were on the way.

As I walked across a particular busy street, I looked down and saw an piece of paper that looked like a check. Well, I picked it up and it was a check! In the amount of almost $8,000. Made out to a guy, c/o a business that was in the same town I was walking my dog in.

Long story short is I because I use a smart phone (I’m connected), after some clever headhunting work I was able to track the person down and give him the check he’d lost. Needless to say that he was extremely grateful!

He even invited me and my family to lunch or dinner at his restaurant. I told him that it wasn’t necessary, and that my motivation was simple, it’s our planet and if we each treat each other with the same act of love and respect – we would experience earth as the amazing place it truly is. When he left, he called me from his phone to thank me again and to extend the invitation to dinner, which I gladly accepted.

While many of you may think about how lucky the guy was to have me find his check, I was the lucky one. The universe knew that I needed an experience to help shift my state from the stress back to my natural place of joy – it worked!

So if you are like me (a human), we tend to get caught in our web of thoughts and emotions and sometimes need to shift our focus. The moral of the story is If you are feeling a little stressed or down by what seems to be happening around you, maybe you need an opportunity to do something good for someone else – maybe?

Please post a response to let me know what you think about the information and how you are using it. Also visit my new site (DreamJobUniversity.com) and let me know what you think! If you’d like to do any of the programs for free – ask your college to buy a bulk membership to give it’s students and alumnus. After all, you paid a lot for your education – right!

May you live the life that you dream, on earth as it is in heaven….

Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Deepak Chorpa and asked him for a few words of wisdom that he could share with Job Seekers or anyone looking for a way to reinvent themselves in the current economy.

He was very generous with his words and here is what he had to say!

Interview with Deepak Chopra and Ron Nash:

My thoughts:
Many people may say it’s easy for Deepak to give such advice because he’s already successful. Yes he is very successful and has been for a long time, however, Deepak has had to build his own road to walk on. No one gave him his fame and fortune, he had to build his road stone by stone.

Thus his wisdom is solid and his words powerful. If you take them to heart and apply them you will find the gift that he is giving. Gotham Chopra, his son, wrote a book entitled, “Walking Wisdom”, which I highly encourage you to read. The book gives some amazing insight into world of the Chorpa family as Deepak was building his road. You can find Walking Wisdom on amazon.com or at any bookstore.

If you are interested in living your life based on your dreams and passion and dare to challenge yourself – you can! It is the same road that I travel and the same message that I teach in my coaching. After all, we only have so many heartbeats in our hearts – why not use them to fuel your dreams….

May you live the life that you dream, on earth as it is in heaven…
